With appropriate safety measures in place and staff training, units can be stacked for storage and transport. Employees should always inspect units prior to stacking by making sure that pallet, leg positioners, and stacking ears are in proper shape and excellent condition.

Most commonly used composite IBC tote sizes are 275 and 330 gallon. Each unit should have on the front label plate stack guidelines either embossed into the plate or a label on the plate that displays the full container requirements as shown below.

275-gallon units = 1650 KG max
330-gallon units = 2722 KG max

Steel units will range in many different sizes.
On the container’s data label plate, you will find maximum stack storage.
Follow these guidelines to prevent unnecessary accidents or spills.
